And that’s how people lose money, access, or even face criminal liability.
While browsing legal aid groups, I came across this request:
“I want to renew my UAE driving license, but I’m outside the UAE and don’t have a residence visa. Is it possible?”
What truly alarmed me wasn’t the question, it was a comment from an Anonymous Participant underneath:
👉 “There is a way, how I can contact you.”
The discussion quickly moved toward sharing personal details.
That’s the exact moment risk begins.
Here’s the legal reality (no shortcuts, no exceptions):
You cannot renew a UAE driving license without a valid Emirates ID.
Accredited Eye Test is mandatory as well.
The renewal system is fully automated through official government portals.
No agent, “contact”, or third party can bypass this.
The legal risk most people ignore:
Sharing UAEPASS access, bank card details, or allowing someone to act on your behalf using official credentials may expose you to:
- Forgery allegations.
- Breach of government systems.
- Criminal liability for misuse of official portals.
Even if you didn’t commit fraud, you may still be held responsible.
🔍 So what can we get from such story ?
Scammers don’t start by asking for money.
They start by offering “help”.
📢 Be Aware:
Before sharing details, credentials, or trusting “someone who knows a way”, verify the process, ask a qualified professional, visit the official hubs, or simply walk away.
